Our system does not currently have a formal break function. The
shift's paid hours should be set to account for any unpaid break
time and
break times can be entered into the shift description and can be displayed on schedules using the "Change
Layout" link on that view.
This would mean that if you use our
system as designed, and you Import a Previous
Week (or Saved Template) (clearing work assignments) and
AutoFill then each week your set of shifts will automatically
contain the break information in the shift description when you
Import them.
If you need to visually see on your
schedule where the breaks are then our system may not be the best
fit for you. In order to see graphically where the breaks are you
would have to create two shifts around the break. Ex. a shift from
8a-12p and then 1230p -5p. This could complicate things if you are
wanting to use AutoFill or if you allow Employees to trade shifts
online (ex. where someone may ask to pick up the early portion but
not the late portion of a shift).
